Sarah Jessica Parker Steps Out in a Classic New York Look

September 2020

By Christian Allaire

Sarah Jessica Parker has been putting her entrepreneur hat on throughout the summer. Virtually every week, she’s been making appearances at her shoe store, SJP Collection, in Manhattan, where she has been helping sell footwear while chatting with customers. She also recently partnered up with Christian Siriano by lending her heels to his runway show. With a busy schedule in effect, Parker has been serving 9-to-5 looks simultaneously. We’ve seen her in everything from chic day dresses to statement heels. In general, her style is colorful, and always punctuated by high heels. Her latest outing, however, is perhaps her most classically New York look yet—and there’s loads of black, of course.

Yesterday, Parker was seen heading to her shoe store yet again in an all-black ensemble that meant business. Wearing head-to-toe black is a classic Manhattan work vibe, and Parker styled her take on the aesthetic in a polished way. Her outfit included a structured blazer, a flowy maxi dress, shield sunglasses, and patent Mary Jane heels to dress it all up. The shoes are by her own label—they’re called the Nirvana and retail for $365—but they also bear a resemblance to Manolo Blahnik’s Camparis, that classic shoe that her character Carrie Bradshaw once deemed an “urban shoe myth” in Sex and The City. But this fit wasn’t about the flash-and-awe that Carrie’s style is always about—the more discreet look was a SJP-spin on Manhattan workwear. But she couldn’t resist adding a pop of color with a neon crossbody bag.
