Sarah Jessica Parker Steps Out in a Very Carrie Bradshaw Shoe

Sarah Jessica Parker Steps Out in a Very Carrie Bradshaw Shoe | July 2020

By Christian Allaire

If you’re a devoted Sex and The City fan, you know that Sarah Jessica Parker’s iconic character, Carrie Bradshaw, loved herself a heel. There’s a whole episode in the classic HBO series devoted to her obsession with designer shoes. Bradshaw realizes that she's spent over $40,000 on Manolo Blahniks and Christian Louboutins, but can’t even afford to keep up her Manhattan apartment. “I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes,” she quips. Bradshaw certainly put her investment footwear to good use. She rarely traipsed around town without her chic stilettos, and they often made the outfit, too. In real life, however, Parker tends to jet around New York City in more comfortable, real-New Yorker shoes (chic flats or boots). But not today! Parker just stepped out wearing a pair of sandals that would make Bradshaw herself swoon.

This afternoon, the actor was spotted heading to her shoe label’s new store in Manhattan (yes, she has her own shoe line—she is the queen of footwear, after all). It was only natural that Parker wore a pair of her own designs for the appearance: she slipped on a strappy pair of SJP slide sandals that are finished in a striking holographic treatment. The metallic shoe is a statement on its own, sure, but they also happen to go with everything. Bradshaw would surely treat them as a neutral. Parker paired them with a clean gray maxi dress, oversized sunglasses, and printed scarf worn as a face covering—sensible finishing touches that made the ensemble less Carrie, more Sarah Jessica.
